Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination for our patients up to seven years old, and twice yearly or more often for older pets and pets with special medical needs. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:
Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs:
Surgical Services: Our surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, abdominal, dermal, and oral surgeries.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
Internal medicine consults: Our in-house and our reference laboratory, radiology equipment, and the use of a mobile ultrasound service allows us to diagnose and treat most medical cases. For more challenging cases, we consult with internal medicine specialists who may advise us on further testing, or we may refer the patient in order to have access to their more specialized testing and diagnostic procedures.
Imaging Services: Our on-site, X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. We also work with a talented team of mobile pet ultrasound technicians and can generally schedule ultrasound within 24 to 48 hours. Our ultrasound and radiographic images are routinely reviewed by board certified veterinary radiologist to provide the most accurate interpretation.
Cardiology Services: Our Vetronics ECG and VitalScan system allows us to perform full EKGs on-site along with blood pressure and tissue oxygen perfusion monitoring. Combined with our imaging services, and ready access to local and national specialist, most cases can be handled in-house. Again, we are happy to refer to a cardiology specialists when needed or requested.
Dentistry: We are able to perform many oral surgery and dental procedures in-house, from basic teeth cleaning and polishing, to intra-oral radiography (dental X-rays), tooth extractions other and minor oral surgery. We do refer to one of our excellent local veterinary dentists when needed or requested for advanced oral surgery including root canal procedures, complicated jaw fractures, or tooth realignment procedures (such as braces).
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities allow us to run most serum chemistry, hematology, serology, and urinalysis tests. We are also able to test for both blood and intestinal parasites. For more advanced or special purpose testing, we utilize a major national veterinary laboratory.
Pet identification: We offer tattooing and microchip identification. We can also engrave pet I.D. tags while you wait.
Pharmacy: We maintain a large inventory of pet specific pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.
